The detailed story of the video leak scandal from Mohali-based Chandigarh University has surfaced following the confession of the prime accused in the matter.
After the information of a possible video leak erupted, the accused deleted all the objectionable content from her phone.
However, when the hostel administration asked her to send a message to her friend involved in the entire matter, in order to get clarification he shared the screenshot of the intimate videos.
Soon after the revelation upon inquiring from the accused the University administration registered a complaint with the police. Based on the complaint the Mohali police had booked the accused and her Shimla-based friend Sunny under section 354-C of the IPC and IT Act.
As per the FIR lodged in the case, a few girls reached to hostel warden Rajwinder Kaur at around 3 PM on Saturday. They were suspicious that the accused was making a video of 6 girls in the washroom.
The warden reached the girl’s hostel manager with the accused student and the girls who raised suspicion. When the accused was asked, she refused to take photos or videos. The manager claimed that when she checked her mobile, she found photos and videos deleted from it.
The accused was receiving continuous calls and messages on her mobile phone, after which the manager became suspicious of her. She asked the accused student to pick up the call and switch the speaker on. The manager asked the student to ask the caller to send her the photos and videos he had.
Hearing this, the boy sent him a screenshot of the intimate videos. When the manager forced up a bit during the inquiry, the accused student confessed to her action in the leaked video case.

The accused girl in the case said, she herself made those videos and sent those to her friend Sunny in Shimla. How did these photos and videos reach other’s phones she has no idea of it.
The Police investigation of the entire matter seems to be done in a hurry. The hostel manager in FIR claims that the accused has confessed to her crime while on the other hand Mohali SSP Vivek Soni in a joint press conference said that the accused has only made her video and not of others.
However, he also added that the information they had was based on the preliminary investigation and a conclusive statement will only be released once the police finish the detailed investigation into the matter.
The girls were fuming in anger after the incident has gone viral. The girls are saying that they don’t feel safe in the hostel anymore. They have alleged the administration of suppressing the matter.
The girl students said that the hostel administration sent the media and the police back after luring them of money. The accused girl was about to confess her mistake in front of everyone, but the administration did not let this happen either.
Girls in the hostel inquired from the girl who made the video. A video showcasing similar interrogation has surfaced. The accused have also confessed to making these videos under the pressure and showed the picture of a boy leveling him as the mastermind in the entire incident
