For the unversed, Punjab's Chandigarh university witnessed widespread demonstrations on September 18 after several girl students alleged that their private videos were 'leaked' by a hostel student. Despite the arrest, the students of CU continued to protest, however, the demonstration were called off when the varsity administration nodded to agitating students demands i.e. the statements of those female students whose videos, they alleged, got leaked, be recorded before representatives of students, an apology from the management, changing hostel wardens, relaxation in timings for hostel entry, and safety issues.
