The Punjab problem of the Congress is far from over as the Channi government is being constantly cornered by its own party leaders on various issues. Therefore, to evolve a consensus among the warring factions, the party high command has today summoned Charanjit Singh Channi, Navjot Singh Sidhu and Sunil Jakhar to Delhi.

As per information, all the three leaders have already left for Delhi in the afternoon and in a short while they are expected to meet the party’s top leadership.
Sources said all three would meet the top leaders separately and if required, there may be a combined meeting later on.

The meeting has been called after Sunil Jakhar cornered Congress govt on Twitter and Navjot Sidhu publicly criticized the government, while Channi called a meeting of block presidents without the PPCC chief.

Meanwhile, party in-charge of the state Harish Chaudhary has also tried to reach out to Jakhar but sources say he was unable to pacify him and it is likely that Sonia Gandhi may have to intervene in the state's issues. Sources close to Sunil Jakhar confirmed the meeting on Tuesday evening.

Notably, Sunil Jakhar has emerged as a strong critic of the Channi government and Navjot Sidhu in recent days. Call it rage over “not being elected as Punjab CM” or his intolerance over long-standing drama in the party, Jakhar time and again had raised significant questions.
