Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann has been seen in swift action ever since his oath-taking ceremony as CM. In continuation of his work, today he took a major decision on Ration Distribution to BPL families under PDS.
The Chief Minister said that when everything is being done digitally why do the poor people have to wait for hours and let go of their working hours to get Ration? Instead, the Punjab Government will make sure that ration will reach their homes. The commodities will be stored in neat and clean sacks and the Beneficiary will be called and confirmed if he is at home before the authorities reach his place. This arrangement will be optional. If the depot is near, then you can bring your share of ration from there also. Let us know if there is any shortage in the ration.

The same scheme was planned for Delhi also before it was stopped abruptly by the Central Government, the Chief Minister added. The Chief Minister is also meeting the Employee Unions on strike at his residence today.
