Jalandhar, 14 July 2025:
In a swift and commendable operation, the Police team of PS Bhargo Camp, Commissionerate Jalandhar, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Smt. Dhanpreet Kaur successfully solved a murder case within a few hours. The operation was executed under the supervision of Sh. Manpreet Singh Dhillon (DCP Investigation), Sh. Harinder Singh Gill (ADCP–II City), Sh. Sarwanjit Singh (ACP West Jalandhar), and Sh. Sukhjit Singh (SHO Bhargo Camp), resulting in the arrest of two key accused involved in a brutal murder that took place in the area of PS Bhargo Camp area.
Divulging the details, Smt. Dhanpreet Kaur said that an FIR No. 107 dated 14.07.2025 under sections 103(1), 191(3), and 190 of the BNS was registered at PS Bhargo Camp, Jalandhar as per the statement given by complainant Vipan Kumar, son of Charan Das resident of H. No. 625, near Civil Dispensary, Tahli Wala Chowk, Bhargo Camp. The Complainant stated that his son Varun, along with his nephews Lokesh and Vishal, was walking through the street of Mehnga Depu when they were attacked by unidentified individuals armed with sharp weapons. Vipan and his son-in-law, who were also present at the spot, tried to intervene but were also assaulted. Varun's son Vipin was seriously injured during the attack and was immediately taken to Shri Ram Neuro Center where the doctors declared him dead.
Acting promptly, the police utilized technical surveillance, analyzed CCTV footage, and carried out ground investigations to identify and apprehend the accused. The three individuals identified are:
- Dhruv Kumar (18), son of Parasotam Lal, resident of 131/01 near Chopra Sound, Bhargo Camp – Arrested on 14.07.2025
- Sunil Kumar (25), son of Raj Kumar, resident of H.No. 3242 near Gyan Giri Mandir, Chapali Chowk, Bhargo Camp – Arrested on 14.07.2025
- Sonu Pandit, resident of Bhargo Camp – Arrest pending
She further revealed that the accused Dhruv Kumar already has one FIR registered against him at PS Bhargo Camp, while the accused Sunil Kumar alias Bhindi has two FIRs registered against him—one at PS Division No. 6 and another at PS Bhargo Camp. She said that further investigation is ongoing to identify and arrest other individuals who may have been involved in the incident. Commissionerate Police Jalandhar is committed to maintaining law and order and ensuring justice is served promptly.
