With over a day and before the poll counting starts in five poll bound states Congress have already started sending seniors leaders to Goa, to keep a check on contesting legislators and possible look for other options in case they are in a position to form government.

It has been reported that Congress has shifted over 37 contesting MLA’s to hotel, in order to save itself from the similar previous disasters. In 2017 Goa elections Congress was the single largest party with 17 MLA’s out of 40. Yet it couldn’t form the government, as BJP took away a big chunk of these MLA’s to form the government in Goa.

On Monday, the exit polls showed that there were good chances of a hung assembly in the state, as no party seems to be having a clear majority in the state, the decision of shifting of contestants to hotels was made.

Meanwhile, Congress Veteran leader P Chidambaram has taken control of Goa Congress and is trying hard to keep BJP away from reaching the Congress contesting MLA's.

For BJP, they have already started reaching to MGP and other independent contesting MLA’s and there are speculation about Utpal Parrikar, son of late Manohar Parrikar of joining the BJP alliance.
