Coronavirus Updates: With 49,881 new cases, India’s COVID-19 cases mounts to 80,88,851

Globally, 45,348,176 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been recorded, while 1,186,396 people have succumbed to deaths and as many as 32,996,335 patients have recovered from the disease. Coronavirus is affecting 216 countries.

Coronavirus Recovery-Rate Andhra-Pradesh

India reported 48,648 new coronavirus cases being in a day pushing the country’s caseload to 80,88,851. According to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday,  the active cases have fallen below 6,00,000. The national recovery rate crossed 91 per cent.

COVID-19 related deaths in the country mounted to 1,21,090 with 563 new fatalities. As many as 73,73,375 patients have recovered from COVID-19 so far taking the national recovery rate to 91.15 per cent while the case fatality rate stands at 1.50 per cent.

There are 5,94,386 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country as on date which comprises 7.35 per cent of the total caseload, the data stated. Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka have reported the highest number of cases but cases are rapidly increasing in states like Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. 

India's COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23 and 40 lakh on September 5.

# The COVID-19 tally in Arunachal Pradesh rose to 14,668 on Friday after 88 more people tested positive for the infection.

#  Jharkhand coronavirus caseload increased to 1,00,964 on Friday after 395 more people tested positive for covid infection. The COVID-19 deaths in the state climbed to 883 with three more persons succumbing to the disease. 

# Delhi registered a new high of 5,739 fresh cases over the last 24 hours. This was the second consecutive day when Delhi recorded more than 5,000 new cases. Yesterday, the city recorded its 5,673 cases. 

# Telangana reported 1,531 new COVID-19 cases, 1,048 recoveries and 6 deaths on Thursday. The state now has a total of 2,37,187 cases. It includes 2,17,401 recoveries, 1,330 deaths and 18,456 active cases. 

# According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a cumulative total of 10,77,28,088 samples have been tested for COVID-19 up to October 29 with 11,64,648 samples being tested on Thursday.

# Ladakh has recorded 61 new COVID-19 cases and one death, pushing the infection caseload to 6,085 and the fatalities to 74. As many as 107 patients have recovered from the disease, which has brought down the active cases to 643. 

# Chhattisgarh's registered 1,83,588 on Thursday after 2,005 people tested positive, while the number of people who have recovered reached 1,59,268. The death toll rose to 1,989 after 53 more people died of the infection. The state has 22,331 active cases.

# Sikkim's COVID-19 tally increased to 3,893 after18 more people have tested positive for the infection in the last 24 hours. East Sikkim district reported 17 fresh cases, while South Sikkim registered one. There 268 active cases in the UT while 3,476 patients have been cured of the infection, 67 people died of the disease.

#  Delhi Health Minister Satyender Jain: Spike in cases is due to aggressive contact tracing & testing. Until there is a vaccine, masks should be considered as vaccines.

# On Thursday, West Bengal registered the highest single-day recovery of 3,945 COVID-19 patients, pushing the total number of cured people to 3,21,873. The discharge rate currently is 88.02 per cent. The death toll increased to 6,725 after 61 more patients succumbed to the disease. Confirmed covid cases in the state reached 3,65,692 after 3,989 people tested positive for the virus. West Bengal has 37,094 active cases at present.

# Odisha's COVID-19 tally increased to 2,87,099 on Thursday after 1,617 more people tested positive for the infection, 13 deaths pushed the state's coronavirus death toll to 1,297. 1,908 patients were cured of the disease, pushing the total number of recoveries to 2,72,038, which is 94.75 per cent of Odisha's caseload. 

# 1,068 people were cured of COVID-19 in Bihar on Thursday, 2,05,385 recoveries were reported. The state by far has tested 1.06 crore samples, including 1,31,357 samples in the past 24 hours.
