There are many cases of Covid-19 reported from schools. Reportedly, maximum positive cases in school were in Nawanshahr. Two days ago, a leading daily published a report that there were 121 students and 18 teachers who were tested positive for Covid-19.

Similarly, in Sangrur, Muktsar, Bathinda among other areas, many students and teachers were tested positive for Covid-19.

As per various reports, schools are going to conduct exams from March onwards. The mode of exams is likely to be offline.

Vikram Dev Singh, President of the Democratic Teachers Front was quoted by the Indian Express. He said, “Offline mode of exams all of a sudden and that too for a three-hour duration is itself a cause of panic for most students. They are stressed and now the spike in cases has added further to the panic. The Punjab education minister must look at the conditions and accordingly, modifications need to be done in upcoming exams.”

He added, “Students have already experienced stress, hence mission 100% results should not be forced upon them. There are many other criteria to judge the aptitude of students.”
