PrimeMinister Narendra Modi on Monday said that there is no parallel to Covid-19pandemic in a hundred years and right from the beginning of the pandemic Indiahas been committed to sharing all our expertise with the global community inthis battle.
ThePrime Minister made the remarks at the CoWIN Global Conclave.
Speakingat the event, Modi offered his sincere condolences for all the lives lost tothe pandemic, in all the countries.
"Thereis no parallel to such a pandemic in a hundred years. Experience shows that nonation, however powerful that nation is, can solve a challenge like this inisolation," he said.
ThePrime Minister said that right from the beginning of the pandemic, India hasbeen committed to sharing all our experiences, expertise and resources with theglobal community in this battle.
"Despiteall our constraints, we have tried to share as much as possible with theworld," he said.
Emphasisingthe role of technology, he said, "Technology is integral to our fightagainst Covid-19. Luckily, software is one area in which there are no resourceconstraints."
Thatis why we made our Covid tracing and tracking App open source as soon as it wastechnically feasible, he said.
Modialso said that vaccination is the best hope for humanity to emerge successfulfrom the pandemic.
"Andright from the beginning, we in India decided to adopt a completely digitalapproach while planning our vaccination strategy," he said, adding thatIndian civilization considers the whole world as one family.
Healso said that this pandemic has made many people realise the fundamental truthof this philosophy.
"That'swhy, our technology platform for Covid vaccination - the platform we callCoWIN- is being prepared to be made open source," the Prime Minister said.
