Cultural activities, Library Langar held at Govt School in Amritsar to keep students engaged

In orders to keep students upbeat and engaged in different activities amid covid stress, the staff members of Government High Smart School, Abdal in Amritsar organised different cultural activities and Library Langar in school premises.

Students, their friends, parents and general public all are invited to be part of the event. The concept behind it was to make books available to each student and readers from the Government school libraries and upbeat their mood, said S Satinderbir Singh DEO (Secondary) Amritsar.

The event was organised under the guidance of Deepika Dean headmistress  GHSS, ABDAL and the entire staff participated wholeheartedly.

Deepika Dean, Headmistress Government high smart school Abdal said, "The library langar was organized in a way to attract more public. A word wall was created from the word of the day shared by Department to make an effort to create awareness about vocabulary (Punjabi) which is disappearing in present day scenario.

On day one of the event, the school used a unique methodology for awareness. The entire staff wore typical Punjabi attire, displayed rare cultural artifacts, sensitized people about Punjabi literature and role of books in one’s life.

The event witnessed active participation by Villagers, SMC members, teachers from private schools, Principals from private sector, Sarpanch and other members of Panchayat.

Deepika Dean said that the overwhelming response of the previous library langar encouraged her to organize this one with more energy, enthusiasm and zeal.
