Twoseparate drone activities were spotted over Ratnuchak-Kaluchak military area inJammu city by alert troops, army said on Monday.
DefenceMinistry spokesman Lt Colonel Devender Anand said: "On midnight of 27-28June 2021, two separate Drone activities were spotted over Ratnuchak- KaluchakMilitary area by alert troops.
"Immediately,high alert was sounded and Quick Reaction Teams engaged them with firing.
"Boththe Drones flew away. A major threat thwarted by the alertness and proactiveapproach of troops. The security forces are on high alert and the searchoperation is in progress."
Monday'sdetection of drone activity followed Sunday's low intensity blasts at Air ForceStation Jammu in which two troopers sustained injuries and minor damage wascaused to a single-storey office building away from a helicopter hangar.
Theinvestigation into this attack is being carried out by a team of the NIA thatreached Jammu on Sunday.
Meanwhile,an alert has been sounded in Punjab's border district of Pathankot and PunjabPolice and army officials have been keeping a tight vigil near keyinstallations in Pathankot. Besides, patrolling across the district has beenstrengthened near sensitive areas and additional forces were deployed.
