The dead body of a 21-year-old youth, identified as Karan Bhatti alias Nannu was found in a cremation ground near Pathankot Chowk in Jalandhar, Punjab. The police have arrested a youth identified as Mohit Kumar alias Raja with regard to the case.
According to initial investigation, the accused youth had allegedly consumed drugs with the deceased. Based on the statements of the deceased’s mother, who recently returned from Canada, the police registered a murder case and started an official investigation. During preliminary investigation, the accused admitted that Karan had consumed excessive amounts of drugs.
The accused then reportedly took Karan to the hospital, however, the doctors refused to admit him. Following this, the accused left Karan in a room at the crematorium and fled the scene.
According to information received, the deceased’s family informed the police that Karan had left the house with a couple of his friends. However, he did not return for quite a while and the family were not aware of his whereabouts. The police then started the investigation with a murder and overdose angle.
As per the information, Karan Bhatti was brother to three sisters. Karan had finished his IELTS course and was going to Canada to join one of his sisters. His mother was already staying in Canada.
