The nearby resident and the eye-witness told a media organization that the building has many such showrooms which could catch fire easily. It is expected that fire has started from the ground floor of showroom due to an electric fault and later spread on other floors.

The eye-witness said, “This building had Amba Crockery in the basement and on the upper floors it had brands like Van Heusen, Raymond along with Batla Handlooms. The fire started from the lower floor and because it had clothes, plastic and paper materials. The fire soon spread on higher floors.”
