Following a decline in the number of coronavirus cases in the country, Delhi government has given more relaxation in Covid restrictions. From Monday, restaurants can stay open for more hours with 50 percent of capacity and public parks, gardens, golf clubs and other outdoor yoga activities will also be allowed.

Bars in the National Capital will remain open from noon to 10 pm with 50percent of seating capacity. According to the Delhi government's fresh order, restaurants will remain open from 8 am to 10 pm which earlier used to function from 10 am to 8 pm.

Public parks, gardens, golf clubs and outdoor yoga activities will also be allowed. Meanwhile, market complexes and malls are also permitted to function from 10 am to 8 pm.

These relaxations are permitted at a time when medical experts have warned the government about an inevitable third wave. Earlier, AIIMS chief Dr. Randeep Guleria told that “The third wave of coronavirus is inevitable and it could hit the country in the next six to eight weeks."

“As we have started unlocking process, once again we are witnessing lack of covid-appropriate behavior. It seems like we have learned nothing from what happened between the first and second waves. Again the crowds are building up and people are gathering in markets and public places. It will take just a little time for the number of cases to rise again at the national level. The third wave is inevitable and it could hit India within the next six to eight weeks maybe longer,” said Dr. Guleria.

Meanwhile, today India reported 58,419 fresh coronavirus cases, which is the lowest in over 81 days. The daily recoveries are outnumbering the fresh covid cases as 87,619 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours.
