In the match played at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium, Delhi Capitals registered their second win by defeating Punjab by six wickets on the basis of Shikhar Dhawan's brilliant innings of 92 runs. Punjab Kings scored 195 runs for four wickets while batting first. Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul had scored half-centuries for that.
Delhi had to have a strong start if they were to trounce a Punjab bowling line-up that had enough firepower to defend the total. However, a Dhawan masterclass, which included a blistering 92 off 49 balls, single-handedly took the game away from them and sent the Punjab bowlers down the barrel.
