Sprouting from the idea of bringing about a change, to becoming a full fledged Non-profit Organization, Howard Smiles was not made overnight. The tender age where we don’t even plan on what we would do the next day, 24-year-old Himanshu always wanted to give back to the society.
While he was still young Himanshu was sent to a Community Home located in Tamil Nadu where all he knew was that he had to study and become something. Things started to hit as many of his classmates had visitors and family coming to meet them with their favorite home cooked food, while he could not figure out why he was different.
While having to grow up facing his own troubles, young Himanshu wanted to be the happiness in the lives of the children and the ones who crave for the love and attention that we take for granted.
The determination of 10 friends who sat together and decided to help the needy back in the year 2019 are now a family of 150 and growing. While talking to Himashu about the future plans of the Organization we got to know that their main aim is to spread the ray of education and provide the basic necessities to everyone in their reach but most of all make the ones who have no family feel wanted.
This is not just the part that they do like real-life Marvel characters, they step in and play games with the children they meet, and by games we don’t mean the same old hide-and-seek they become children themselves as they play!
While getting to know more about the team behind the good cause we got to know that all of the members are students, completing their studies in various fields while actively being a part of the team and aiding over 2000 children through their ventures on education, healthcare and livelihood in the remote slum areas of Jalandhar. Besides this thy plan on spreading awareness among the uneducated about the schemes available to them by the government and not just do what all main stream NGOs and non- profit organizations do.
