ASHISHPURI
Kapurthala, October 6: Deputy Commissioner Captain Karnail Singh on Friday extended greetings to Indian Hockey Team on its victory with 5-1 against Japan in the final of Asian Games at Hangzhou, China. He said it was proud moment for the country as well as Kapurthala district as the Indian team’s goalkeeper Krishan Bahadur Thakur is from Rail Coach Factory. 


In his congratulatory  message, Deputy Commissioner Captain Karnail Singh said Krishan brought laurels for the district and state with his excellent  performance. He said the entire District Administration greeted the team and Thakur got their magnificent victory in final of hockey in Asian Games after a gap of nine years. He pointed out that Krishan mentor, coaches and family members’ for this rare achievement as their constant support and his own hard work enable him to join Indian Hockey Team, which today brought laurels for the entire nation. He said the team had made a distinctive place for the country on the map of hockey sport. 

Deputy Commissioner lauded that the team including Krishan played very well thus leading to tremendous victory in Asian Games and the entire country feel proud on this great achievement .

Pertinently, the Indian Hockey Team has 10 players from Punjab including Captain Harmanpreet Singh.
