Didn't develop antibodies, Lucknow man registers case against Adar Poonawalla

Alleging that despite taking the Covishield vaccine dose, he did not develop antibodies, a man in Lucknow named, a man has filed a complaint against Serum Institute of India CEO Adar Poonawala and others. The complaint has been registered at the Aashiana police station in Lucknow.

The others named in the complaint are the DCGA director, Joint Secretary of Health Ministry Luv Agarwal, ICMR director Balaram Bhargava, National Health Mission director Aparna Upadhyay, among others.

Pratap Chandra, the complainant in his complaint has said that he received his first Covishield shot on April 28 and was supposed to get the second dose in 28 days. However, he was later told that the date for the second dose was changed to 6 weeks. Then the government revised the gap between the two doses of Covishield to 12 weeks. 

Chandra further said he was not well after taking the first dose and citing the ICMR director general Balram Bhargav's quotes in media where he had said "good levels of antibodies are produced in the body after the first dose of Covishield", the complainant had taken a Covid Antibody GT test from a government-approved lab.

The test result showed that the complainant had not developed antibodies against the coronavirus infection, instead, his platelet count decreased to 1.5 lakh from 3 lakh.

Now that his platelet count has been decreased to half, Chandra claimed that he has become more susceptible to the virus. 

Though his complaint has been registered, the police have not filed an FIR yet in the matter. Looking at the sensitivity of the case, the police have informed the top officials about the complaint before taking any further action.

The complainant, meanwhile, has warned that he would approach the court if an FIR is not lodged against the people mentioned in his complaint.
