Punjabi superstar and singer Diljit Dosanjh has been in the headlines due to the controversies revolving around his new film “Sardaar Ji 3.” But this time, it is because of his presence at the Toronto Metropolitan University.

Surprisingly, Diljit has not entered as a student or a professor; he will be a course for the students studying in the University. Recently, the University announced that it will be offering a course on the singer at their “The Creative School.” The announcement was made at the Billboard Summit at NXNE in Toronto, an event that focuses on the voices from across the music and media industries.

According to the details shared by the University, the course will be focused on the dedicated and outstanding work of Diljit Dosanjh - highlighting the cultural, musical, and diaspora relevance. The course will also highlight the growing impact on the global stage.

It is worth mentioning that this is not the first time that an Indian celebrity has made it to school textbooks. The life lessons of various superstars have been used to offer the students important and entertaining information about life, struggle, and, of course, success.

Here is the list of the Indian superstars who have bridged the gap between the entertainment screen and education -

1 Priyanka Chopra -

The life story of the “Desi Girl” of Bollywood, who has been ruling the world, is added to the textbooks of the students of Class 5th. Her chapter has been named “Roving Families, Shifting Homes” and has been added to the textbook of Environmental Studies.

The chapter focuses on the childhood experiences she went through due to constant shifting as her parents were from an army background, which will help the students to understand the insights of a nomadic childhood and how we can adapt to new environments.

2 Palak Muchhal

It is worth mentioning that Palak Muchhal is loved by his fans not just because of her superb singing skills but also because of her contribution to society. The singer is well-known for raising money for the medical treatment of children who are dealing with heart issues and kidney-related health issues.

Muchhal’s life story has been added to the textbooks of CBSE and Maharashtra Board. The chapter on her focuses on the importance of philanthropic and charitable efforts towards the needy.

3 Rajnikanth

South superstar and Veteran actor Rajnikanth’s entry in the textbook should not be a big surprise as it is well-known that he is ‘worshipped’ by the people in Tamil cinema. His life story has been added to the textbooks of class 6th, and the name of the chapter is ‘From Bus Conductor to a Film Star.’
