Several years after his Bollywood debut, actor-model Dino Morea has finally opened up about his rumoured rivalry with actor John Abraham. In an interview with Youtuber Siddharth Kannan, he said that there is a narrative present that John stole actress Bipasha Basu from him, and further clarified that it is completely false.
Dino clarified that Bipasha and him were not in a relationship when John and her started dating. Dino said, “We never had any rivalry. We used to talk to each other often and enjoyed each other’s company. The talk about the rivalry between us started in people’s minds after I broke up with Bipasha, and he started dating Bipasha. People assumed he started dating my girlfriend, so there was a rivalry. The media also fuelled this. People thought ke ismein masala hai (it's spicy).”
Dino further said, 'People thought that he was dating my girlfriend, so there was a fight between us. But we both have always been good friends. I messaged him just yesterday “are we going for a bike rides or coffee?” He also said that he is glad with his friend’s status in Bollywood saying that, “I am very happy to see where he is today. There was a time when people used to say that models cannot act and we both have proved them wrong.”
In the interview, Dino also clarified that after the breakup, Bipasha was single for a year. Dino said, 'When Bipasha and I were working on the film 'Raaz', our relationship started deteriorating. But after Raaz when we did Gunaah, that was the toughest time because we were breaking up, it was over. I am clarifying this after years, but a year after Bipasha and I broke up, they (John and Bipasha) started dating each other.”
Now, Bipasha is married to Karan Singh Grover, with whom she shares a daughter, Devi.
