DMK MP Kanimozhi donned in PPE kit casts her vote in Chennai

Owing to the unusual circumstances, DMK Lok Shabha member K Kanimozhi, who had recently tested positive for the contagious infection, on Tuesday has set an example of using the fundamental right judiciously. Presently, Kanimozhi is being treated for COVID-19, arrived at a polling booth in an ambulance with a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kit on to cast her vote in Mylapore, Chennai.

Kanimozhi, however, was not the only one to vote as a number of people being treated for the infection also came to the polling station to reserve the fate of candidates.

Interestingly, Election Commission has fixed one hour between 6 pm & 7 pm for voting by Covid positive patients or those suspected to fallen prey to infection in Chennai and other parts of Tamil Nadu. 

Also, a number of others being treated for the virus voted here and in other parts of Tamil Nadu.

To facilitate the voting, officials in the polling booth wore PPE kits well before time. After the voting by infected people took place, the voting centre was sanitized.
