‘Don’t need Kejriwal’s advice’: Pargat Singh after Delhi CM urges to sack tainted officials

The statement comes a day after the national convener of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Arvind Kejriwal backed Navjot Singh Sidhu and advised new Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi to remove the tainted officials from his government.

Congress leader Pargat Singh today said that the party does not need Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s advice on the ongoing political crisis in Punjab, adding that their 'fight is over several issues.'

 

“We don't need to take Kejriwal's advice. We will work in the best interests of Punjab... Our fight is over several issues. It's not focused on a particular personality,” he said talking to a reputed media agency.

 

The statement comes a day after the national convener of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Arvind Kejriwal backed Navjot Singh Sidhu and advised new Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi to remove the tainted officials from his government.

 

Kejriwal on Wednesday said, “I congratulate Channi Sahab on his election as Chief Minister. I'd like to advise him that he is alleged of inducting tainted ministers into his cabinet and elevating tainted officers. I'd request him to sack them and take necessary actions”.

 

He gave CM Channi a five-point agenda to act. Kejriwal advised CM Channi of taking action on Bargari incident, fulfill the promises made by Capt Amarinder, give unemployment allowance to the unemployed and waive the loans of farmers, cancel the power purchase agreement and sack tainted officials.

Arvind Kejriwal who is on his two-day visit to Punjab is likely to make some big announcements today. On Wednesday he claimed that AAP “will give Punjab a CM face that will make everyone proud.”

 

As per sources, Arvind Kejriwal will hold a press conference today and might announce AAP’s CM face for Punjab.
