Drishyam 2 Release Date: Ajay Devgn-led hit crime thriller set to return on the big screen after 7 years

Ajay Devgn along with major leads in the show returns in Drishyam 2, with a twist coming in a new role played by Akshaye Khanna

Seven years later the mystery is all set to sail on yet another journey, Vijay Salgaonkar is up for his family, standing against the Goa Police, who are in absolute stand to unfold the mysterious death of IG’s son.

Drishyam is a remake of a Malayalam movie by the same name starring Mohanlal in the lead. The trailer which was released last month began with Ajay Devgn’s character Vijay Salgaonkar pleading about his family’s horrific run which continued for over 7 years.

The case has intensified now with police being in full action as Akshaye Khanna enters the scene as a senior investigating officer sets the tone for Vijay to get hold of his family’s lies over Tabu’s IG Meera’s son’s death.

Ajay Devgn confirmed the filming of Drishyam 2 back in February 2021 in Mumbai, earlier the actor shared the picture from the shoot with the caption, “Can Vijay Protect his Family Again?” Tabu who form another major lead joined the shoot in April.

The film also comprises Abhishek Pathak stars Ishita Dutta, Rajat Kapoor, and Shriya which is all set to hit the theatres on November 18, 2022. Nishikant Kamat who directed the movie’s first part died at age 50 in 2020 and also has a national award to his credit.

Although the whole star cast is yet to be disclosed, the major cast who were seen in the movie’s first part will resume their roles in Drishyam 2 as well. Ajay Devgn in the lead role as Vijay Salgaonkar, Shriya Saran Vijay’s wife as Nandini Salgaonkar, Tabu in the role of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Meera Deshmukh. Ishita Dutta as Vijay’s daughter Anju Salgaonkar.
