A total of 24 men from the Goghra village of Dasuha
and from other places in the state have fallen into the scam of fraud from the Jalandhar-based
agents in the name of getting well-paid jobs in Dubai. The news surfaced when
one Pradeep of Dasuha sent a video to his family from Dubai narrating the entire
story and pleaded to get them out of here.
On Saturday, Harbans Singh, father
of Pradeep, convened a press conference and informed the details of the fraud. He
informed, along with his son a total of 24 people are stranded in Dubai. The
details go further, all 24 of them had given 4 Lakhs each to a Jalandhar-based
agent in the hope of getting jobs in Dubai. The agent had said that he is going
to establish a new office in Dubai and you will be deployed there. Pradeep informed,
that the agent took money from them by saying he needs to get their ID scanned
and later bought iPhones of Rs 1 Lakh by their name. After that, the agent made credit cards in the name of
some people and borrowed a loan of 50 Lakhs, which they only got to know after
receiving SMS on their registered mobile number. Agents took the post-paid sim
cards of some among them and when they protested about this, they seized their
Passports.
Father pleaded with Centre for the help:
Harbans Singh informed during the Press Conference that
his son among other youths fell prey to the scam of the agent in the hope of getting
jobs in Dubai. He further said that the agent has put around 3-4 months’ salary
of his son and others on hold. He pleaded with the central government to take
action in the matter and get his son back.
