Witha view to giving further boost to the ongoing massive "EnrollmentDrive" , the Education Department, would set up canopies during theBaisakhi Melas across the state to make the public aware about the changingscenario of government schools. The major awareness drives would be held at SriAnandpur Sahib, Sri Damdama Sahib and Sri Amritsar Sahib.
TheDistrict Education Officers, school heads, teachers, SMCs have made elaboratearrangements for the purpose. The canopies suitably decorated with flexhoardings highlighting improve in infrastructural as well as quality educationfacilities and major achievements of the government schools would be set.Pamphlets would be distributed, promotional songs and ' Nukkad Nataks' ( StreetPlays) would be staged at the mela sites to mobilise people to avail thebenefits of the quality education facilities in the smart government schools.
It ispertinent to mention here that massive enrollment drive is currently underwayin the state. The Education Secretary, Krishan Kumar, has himself made announcements using the Public address system of Gurdwaras and visited “door to door" atsome villages recently to give fillip to the enrollment drive by making themasses aware about the changing scenario of government schools.
Theofficials, school heads, teachers and non teaching employees of thedepartment have been exerting their nerves to convert the enrollment drive intoa mass movement in its true spirit.
Theschool teachers are using public address system of gurudwaras and otherreligious places, going door to door, distributing pamphlets, affixing flex hoardings, plying rickshaws / vans playing promotional songs , stagingstreet plays at public places and setting up canopies at local Mela sites indifferent districts to highlight the revolutionary improvement ininfrastructure as well as quality education facilities.
Moreover,several talented teachers, who have made videos of their promotional songs andskits have been uploading these on You tube / F Facebook pages and the wellknit social media team has been sharing all the highlights in Whatsapp groupsalso. The posters highlighting various quality education activities / goodpractices are also being prepared and shared in social media groups ofstudents, parents, Sarpanches, SMCs etc.
