The Education Secretary, Krishan Kumar, has come forward to lend new dimension to the ongoing enrollment drive "Each One, Bring One".

He paid obeisance at Gurudwara Sahib situated at village Baran in the district Patiala in the morning and made an announcement to mobilise people to get their wards admitted in the government schools.

In his appeal, the Education Secretary, while making the people aware about the state of the art infrastructural facilities as well as qualitative improvement in the teaching-learning process in the government schools urged them to avail the benefit of the quality education facilities to ensure better career opportunities as well as overall personality development of their children.

Besides, the Department of School Education has launched a massive drive to sensitise people about the revolutionary changes in the government schools, which have been converted into Smart Schools both in infrastructural facilities and quality in education.

The officials of the education department, school heads, teachers and non teaching employees have been going door to door, staging Nukkad Nataks, using public address system of religious places, releasing audios and videos of promotional songs, holding "Enrollment Camps” affixing flexes at public places, releasing e-prospectus, holding awareness rallies and meetings, announcements through cycle rickshaws etc. in their respective areas to highlight their distinctive achievements. Besides, a programme "Naviayan Pairhan" has been started on DD Punjabi, promotional programmes on various Radio Channels, broadcasting of announcements at main bus stands are also going on.

The Education Department has also been making optimum utilisation of the social media. All the good practices are being shared extensively through various social media tools like Facebook pages of the schools, Whatsapp groups, comprising students, parents, SMCs, panchayats and different sections of the society, formulated by all the schools.
