The crisis and infighting in the Punjab Congresscontinues even after Chief Minister has been changed and Charanjit Singh Channihad taken over as the leader of the Congress Legislature Party.
Sunil Jakhar, the former PPCC Chief and who was also afrontrunner to replace Capt Amarinder Singh, before Charanjit Channi’s name wasannounced today tweeted: “Enough is enough. Put an end to attempts to underminethe authority of CM time and again”.
Jakhar said, “The aspersions being cast on selection ofAG & DGP is actually questioning the integrity/competence of CM and HomeMinister to deliver results. It’s time to put the foot down and clear the air”.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time Jakhar has openly targetedNavjot Sidhu, earlier on Harish Rawat’s statement that “elections will befought under Sidhu”, Jakhar strongly raised objections.
In a tweet then, he said, “Mr Rawat’s statement that“elections will be fought under Sidhu”, is baffling. It’s likely to undermineCM’s authority but also negate the very ‘raison d’être’ of his selection forthis position.”
Besides, to resolve the crisis, CM Charanjit Singh Channiis expected to meet Navjot Sidhu at 3pm today. Sources say Navjot Sidhu is firmover his decision and wouldn’t reconsider his resignation until CM Channi decidesto roll back appointments of AG and DGP.
