The crisis and infighting in the Punjab Congress continues even after Chief Minister has been changed and Charanjit Singh Channi had taken over as the leader of the Congress Legislature Party.

Sunil Jakhar, the former PPCC Chief and who was also a frontrunner to replace Capt Amarinder Singh, before Charanjit Channi’s name was announced today tweeted: “Enough is enough. Put an end to attempts to undermine the authority of CM time and again”.

Jakhar said, “The aspersions being cast on selection of AG & DGP is actually questioning the integrity/competence of CM and Home Minister to deliver results. It’s time to put the foot down and clear the air”.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time Jakhar has openly targeted Navjot Sidhu, earlier on Harish Rawat’s statement that “elections will be fought under Sidhu”, Jakhar strongly raised objections.

In a tweet then, he said, “Mr Rawat’s statement that “elections will be fought under Sidhu”, is baffling. It’s likely to undermine CM’s authority but also negate the very ‘raison d’être’ of his selection for this position.”

Besides, to resolve the crisis, CM Charanjit Singh Channi is expected to meet Navjot Sidhu at 3pm today. Sources say Navjot Sidhu is firm over his decision and wouldn’t reconsider his resignation until CM Channi decides to roll back appointments of AG and DGP.
