In recent times, numerous Indian students' visa applications were rejected by the Canadian High Commission. The rejected application includes those students who have scored higher on the IELTS test and also those who have got inducted for the online study in Canadian colleges. These students will have to again apply for student visas.

Below we explain to you the reason behind the rejection of the visas and what these students can do to get the approval.

Sources say that the number of students whose visas have gone through rejection stands thousands in number. Consultants who deal with student visas especially in Canada have said that almost every student who applies for a visa through a Consultant has been encountering refusal.

Students who have been given the Visa Approval in Principle (AIP), and have begun doing online classes are also denied visa approval. The rejected application also includes students who have met all the conditions for admission involving clearance of IELTS.

Students who have submitted a one-year fee for the year 2020 have also faced rejection.

Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic that has hit every corner of the world, the visa approval procedure has been split up into two halves namely - AIP and biometrics.

Refusal of visa is nothing new but in a very short time, the numbers are huge. Many say such a great number of rejections was never seen before.

Several students have tweeted about the refusal comprising about 60% in the last few weeks.

Talking about the possible reasons behind the denials of visas is being attributed to the cancellation and suspension of flights to Canada due to pandemics causing the closing of borders. This has caused a huge backlog of students.

Appropriate estimation says about 3 to 3.5 lakh students' visa requests from India have been lying pending. Even after the flights resume it will not be possible for Canada to fit such a large number of students.

Students whose visa applications have been rejected are mostly on the grounds of not scoring or those who come from a weaker financial condition.

For any country, it is difficult to accommodate every student at once, thus, declining the visa at the initial stage gives them a chance to arrange for the inflow and also provide a chance to students to make appropriate improvement in their application.

There are other important factors upon which a visa gets rejected, like the selection of courses. For example, a student who has a weak academic history could be judged from his/her 10th and 12th or graduation percentage marks and also from the score in IELTS. If such students chose a tougher course their visa application will for sure get denied.

Secondly, when a student is brilliant and opts for an easy subject that he has already studied in India; then the visa officer can dismiss the application on the grounds of why this applicant wants to do the same course again.

Though their visas are getting rejected, applicants still have several options to make improvements in their applications and make it past the approval process.

Students whose application has been declined should get their Global Case Management System (GCMS) or Computer Assisted Immigration Processing System (CAIPS) so that they know the real reason behind the denial. The high commission provides them with the answers within 40 days. Upon receiving the remarks from the commission the student can reapply for the visa after analysing and improving on all those points that have caused the rejection.

A student scores good in IELTS, yet gets rejected due to a poor academic profile. However, students who have weak academic records can also apply for the visa. Students have a mole of options nowadays, thus, one can opt for any subject they want to.

There are several new and futuristic courses being introduced every academic year. Therefore, applicants who have a poor academic background can go for such courses, they also have a bright future. Opting for such new courses clear the road for selections, however, the subject must be related to the subjects the students have studied.

To make your way to any College in Canada, the applicant has to provide a statement of purpose (SOP) very clearly, containing the real objective on why the student wants to visit the country to study. The SOP should also directly describe what the stunt plan to do after finishing the studies.

The SOP must contain the true academic records and the reason behind choosing the particular college, course or university.

The student's vision should be clear.

All the details provided in the application and SOP should be reasonable so that the visa officer gets a clear picture of the students motive.

Furthermore, a student's academic profile and economic background is one important aspect upon which their visa is approved.

After the pandemic, countries have seen an economic crunch, thus, they want the students arriving in their territory to be coming from a financially stable background and also have a likeable academic profile.

Any country is doing a business after all, so a good financial background is preferred.
