Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment pays Rs 90 crore to acquire Hindi rights of KGF Chapter 2: Reports

One of the most awaited movies of Bollywood KGF: Chapter 2 is all set to mark its presence in the Indian Cinemas. The upcoming movie Yash starrer 'KGF: Chapter-2' is a sequel to KGF: Chapter-1 which did extremely well at the box office. The film was released in 2018. KGF: Chapter 2 teaser was dropped on YouTube on the occasion of Yash's birthday and after it thrashed every record on its way. Following this, it is speculated that this movie can even break the record of the Bahubali franchise on the box-office. Even the theater owners are quite excited as the movie is expected to attract the audience on a larger scale amidst the pandemic scare. 

Now going by the reports of Bollywood Hungama, KGF 2 has been sold to Excel for a whopping sum.  Yash starrer 'KGF-2' Hindi rights have been sold for a staggering Rs 90 cr. The films rights are bagged by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's production house Excel Entertainment. The same production house had purchased the prequel rights for a price of Rs 43 cr.

The web-portal quoted a source who said, "When KGF was made we were not even thinking of a Hindi version. It was done at the last minute and sold to Excel for peanuts. Now things are very different. The investment for the sequel is at least 7 times more than the original. Of course Excel has had to pay a lot more this time. Isn’t that fair?"

Stars like Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, and Prakash Raj will be seen as the lead character in the movie 'KGF Chapter 2'.
