Jamui: A farmer was charred to death when lightning struck him near Kundhur village under the Giddhaur police station area in the district today.

Police said here that lightning struck the farmer Virendra Yadav (36) when he was returning to his residence after performing agriculture-related work in his field. Sources said Virendra, a native of Kundhur village died on the spot.
The body had been sent to Jamui Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
