Police officers were seen chased by some protesting farmers with sticks and ramming tractors into buses parked by police at ITO on Tuesday. The farmers started their tractor march from different border points, much before the time that was permitted to them for their proposed tractor rally and reached ITO in Central Delhi despite being denied by the force.

A video showed tractors being driven wildly at ITO and farmers chasing police personnel deployed there.

Police were seen using tear gas shells to disperse the farmers’ group and requested them to stick to the routes permitted them to carry their tractor rally. The police also urged the protesting farmers to not take law in their laws.

Meanwhile, in another video, scenes from ITO showed some protesters rescuing police personnel from a group who are seen trying to assault him.

The Delhi Police had permitted the protesting farmers to hold their tractor parade on selected routes only after the official Republic Day parade on the Rajpath concluded.

The settlement was reached after two meetings.

Though the farmers’ unions have assured of a peaceful tractor parade, it has turned chaotic as farmers were headstrong about heading towards central Delhi.
