A gent’s constable has shot dead a fellow lady counterpart in Punjab’s Ferozepur before killing himself in a shocking incident of double murder. The matter which is said to be coming from Ferozepur Cantt has created a massive upheaval in the department.
Police have taken custody of the dead bodies meanwhile, however, the prima facie cause behind the double death is not known and things can only get clear sight after police reach a consensus on the matter.
Lady Constable Amandeep Kaur who died was posted at Ferozepur Cantt Police Station. Whereas the constable Gursewak Singh who shot him was posted in the Ferozepur police line.
According to the initial information, on Sunday night, Amandeep Kaur was returning home in Activa after finishing her day’s duty at the police station. When she reached Baba Sher Shah Wali Peer, Gursewak came there in a car. He hit Amandeep's Activa, got down from his car and shot five bullets at her. Soon after the incident he absconded from there. Amandeep was immediately rushed to the hospital, however, was declared brought dead.
After shooting Amandeep dead Gursewak reached Talwandi Chowk in a car, where he shot himself dead. Upon getting information about the case Gursewak was rushed to the hospital, however, he died later. Police officials have said that the reason behind this is being investigated. The dead bodies of both police personnel have been sent for autopsy.
