EC takes action against Majithia after the viral video of flouting rules surfaced; Watch the video

After being involved in the drug case, now another FIR has been registered in Amritsar against Akali Dal's Majitha candidate Bikram Singh Majithia. The FIR was registered on the instructions of the Election Commission. Significantly, Majithia had reached Amritsar for the first time on Saturday after getting bail from the High Court. He was accompanied by a long convoy of vehicles and was greeted at the Golden Temple  wearing a siropa.





 

Taking cognizance of this rally, the surveillance team of the Election Commission has ordered action. Bikram Majithia remained underground for a long time after the case was registered in the drug case. Majithia had reached Amritsar on Saturday afternoon after getting bail in this case. In view of Corona, the Election Commission has banned any kind of rally or meeting. 
 
 
The Commission had earlier imposed this ban till January 15, which has been extended till January 22 on Saturday. Despite this, when Majithia reached the city, a long convoy of vehicles was with him. Many people gathered to welcome him at the Golden Gate too. Arshdeep Singh Lubana, Returning Officer of East Light has confirmed the action.
 
An FIR has been registered against Majithia at Sultanwind police station. This FIR has been registered under 188-IPC, Section 51 of the Disaster Management Act 2005 and Epidemic Diseases Act 1897. Not only this, the Election Commission has also sent a notice to the party for ignoring the rules and seeking a reply.
