A massive is coming in after reports stated that Jalandhar’s Srimann hospital located on the Pathankot National Highway mistakenly swapped the dead bodies of Corona patients. Not only did the hospital staff swapped the bodies of two COVID-19 patients but the family of one of the deceased also performed the last rites of the dead body.

After relatives of the other deceased insisted on seeing the face they realized that they were given the dead body of someone else.

Now, an FIR has been filed against the management and staff of the Shrimann Hospital on Sunday. Prabhleen Singh of Phagwara in Kapurthala district filed a complaint with the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) that his father Jaspal Singh who was admitted to Shrimann hospital on November 19 passed away.

Prabhleen Singh said that the funeral was done on Sunday after taking the body of his father from the hospital. A legal battle will be fought against the hospital. At the same time, ACP North Sukhjidar Singh and Police station eight SHO Kamaljit Singh said that an FIR has been lodged against the hospital for an interchange of dead bodies. The matter is under investigation.

Tarsem Lal's son Mohan Lal also filed complaints against the hospital for negligence.

DCP Investigation Gurmeet Singh sent the complaints for legal opinion for the District Attorney General. A case has been registered against the hospital management and concerned staff members under section 297 (trespassing of burial places) on the IPC Code.

However, questions are being raised that no name has been confirmed by the Police officials against whom the FIR is registered. Case of such high negligence seems to be a formality. Now all eyes on the Attorney general's advice.
