Olympic silver medalistMirabai Chanu has made every citizen in her country beam with pride and joyafter witnessing her dominating performance. Chanu became the first Indian towin an Olympic medal at the 2020 Tokyo Games in the Women's 49kg category.

The 26-year-oldprepared hard for the quadrennial competition and part of her preparationincluded a strict diet. 

Mirabai Chanu told inan interview after winning the medal, "First, I am going to have a pizza.It has been a long time since I have not eaten one."

She said, "And Ihave waited for this day for a long time, so first I'll have a pizza."

"It's been twodays as well since I have eaten, so I'll eat a little extra," she joked.

"They have noteaten anything since morning. They said they won't even drink water until mycompetition was over, so now they have a big meal waiting for them," she revealedabout her family.

As her interview wentviral on internet, Pizza chain Domino’s could not resist rewarding her for herhardwork. They promised weightlifter Mirabai Chanu free pizzas for life afterthe Olympic athlete helped India win its first silver medal at the TokyoOlympics.

Talking about hersuccess in Tokyo Olympics, Mirabai stated, "I was very sad after failingin the Rio Olympics. Then I won the gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games,after that I thought of keeping an Olympic ring with me. That is when I dreamtof winning an Olympic medal and that's when I made this earring and kept itwith me.”

"This silvermedal is the result of all the sacrifices I have made in my life," Mirabaitold in an interview.
