Single mothers in India have a hard time with the evil patriarchal society often judging these brave women who don’t depend on any man to put food on the table.

Exemplifying the resolve and the kindness of single mothers is Sarita Kashyap.

She never depended on anyone and earned for herself as a salesperson in the automobile industry.

However, she was always driven towards giving back to society. She chose to give up her job. Why? Because she felt that it was preventing her to contribute to the world.

This decision was made in January 2019.

Then, the strong woman made a decision to earn and give back at the same time. She transformed her scooter into a food stall of delicious homemade rajma-chawal and raita.

If you are in Peera Garhi, West Delhi, then drop by her stall and see the beauty of humanity and the smiles and giggles of young children when they have full bellies.

Paying customers pay for their plate and the street children, ragpickers, and homeless people get their hunger met for free.

This is the sole livelihood of Sarita.

At her home, she raises a daughter, and probably the latter too is a strong person in her own right.

So, as you take a bite out of your tasty breakfast today, give a thought that someone somewhere in West Delhi is looking out for those who cannot pay for food, day in and day out.
