#FirstStoryPositive: IIT (BHU) receives grant of $1 million to build Sustainable Entrepreneurial Ecosystem

Jay Choudhry, an IIT (BHU) alumnus donated $1 million focusing on the development of students, faculty and entrepreneurship in India to IIT Varanasi.

Jay is an Indian-American billionaire and is the CEO of security firm Zscaler.

This donation will help the students of India in grooming their entrepreneurial skills. This platform will encourage students to learn and innovate in Software Development, Quantum Computing, Cyber Security, and Data Analytics.

Such donations help the institutes in enhancing their reputation globally. Deep Jariwala an IIT (BHU) alumnus will help to identify a faculty member to fill the role of Jay Choudhry Professor of Software and Innovation. The person will oversee and manage the center.

Jay’s generous donation will help students in attaining the lecture related to software innovation and technology. Mr. Vish Narayanan will be managing and helping in achieving goals.

Mr. Choudhry said, “The education I received at IIT (BHU) played a pivotal role in giving me the identity in the present business world. Contributing to the betterment of our bright young generation gives me immense satisfaction. This Entrepreneurship Center is one of the steps that will help educate students to navigate their careers and learn practical skills and allow them to be more competitive in the world of cyber security. I hope that the Entrepreneurship Center will afford students with big dreams and aspirations and give them a similar path as I was fortunate enough to experience”.
