#FirstStoryPositive: Meet this engineering student who designed & secured copyright for Facial Shield

The face shields developed by Aditya were distributed among state police officers, paramedics and other frontline workers deployed in the containment areas.

P-Mohan-Aditya Biodegradable-Facial-Shield Coronavirus

When the world is battling with a deadly Coronavirus outbreak, P Mohan Aditya, a Mechanical engineering student took giant steps and developed the highly useful face shield. The face shield is made up of biodegradable substances and costs just Rs 15. He named it ‘Facial Shield 2.0’. With the innovative features of Face Shield 2.0, Aditya has secured the copyright to his credit.

“After discovering a shortage in the supply of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) globally, an idea struck my mind. I immediately started researching on developing a piece of standard equipment to combat the Covid 19 pandemic,” Aditya added.

P Mohan Aditya is a third-year Mechanical engineering student from SRM University, Andhra Pradesh. He has received praises as his invention has turned out to be a successful project for both, SRM University and the public.

A release from P Mohan Aditya’s University said that the facial shield 2.0 serves as the outer defense to the mucous membranes, comes with a transparent visor made of a thin layer of 175-micron reusable plastic and a highly durable headband made from three-ply corrugated cardboard, costing only Rs 15 apiece.”

“With an increasing environmental degradation, we should move to the eco-friendly alternatives to develop products and services. Therefore, I thought to develop the face shields from reusable plastics and cardboards, which is easily degradable,” said P Mohan Aditya.

University officials have celebrated Aditya’s rousing success by congratulating him on developing the face shield using the new technology. “The innovative features of face shield 2.0 has helped the student P Mohan Aditya earn the copyright for his design,” the release from SRM University stated.

Besides the university, the Education Minister of Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh also appreciated Aditya’s efforts in Secretariat’s premises. The face shields developed by Aditya were also distributed among state police officers, paramedics and other frontline workers deployed in the containment areas.

“I am thankful to Ravi, attorney of SRM-AP who supported me throughout the tough times by answering all doubts amidst challenging circumstances,” thanked P Mohan Aditya.

The student innovator has also come out with another innovative design ‘building block for beds’ using reusable materials for Covid 19 patients.
