Five sisters tie rakhi to ‘dead body' of their brother before funeral in Telangana

Rakshabandhan is a festival of happiness and celebrates the bond between brother and sister. Where entire India was celebrating this festival of love, a heart wrenching incident came to light in which sisters tied rakhi to their dead brother right before his funeral.

The bizarre incident in which five sisters tied rakhi on the limp hand of their deceased brother took place in Telangana’s Malagudem hamlet Indugula gram panchayat in Nalgonda district on Sunday.

A day ahead of Rakhshabandhan, Chinthapally Lakshmaiah's five sisters came to his house from various villages on August 21 to celebrate Rakhi the next day. However, Lakshmaiah who was 59 became ill unexpectedly. He died early Sunday, leaving the sisters heartbroken.

Every year, the sisters, Erra Lakshmamma, Nama Padma, Allapuri Venkatamma, Kadiri Kotamma, and Jakki Kavitha used to tie ‘rakhi' to their brother. But this year, the devastated sisters tied rakhi to the dead body of their brother with tears rolling down from their eyes ahead of his funeral rites.
The grieving villagers who witnessed this site were moved by the incident.
