After days of tense border conflicts and Pakistan's failed missile & drone attacks on Punjab and other bordering states of India, Adampur Airport of Jalandhar resumed operations on Tuesday. A day before, the Airport Authority of India (AAI) directed 32 airports in India to resume flight services with immediate effect. However, reports suggested that a few airports will open gradually due to their proximity to the border.
As per the information received, bookings for Star Air flights from Adampur resumed on Monday, and the airline is scheduled to restart services from today. The decision to reopen the airport came after the central government assessed that conditions had returned to normal. Late Monday night, the Indian Army successfully neutralized multiple drones that had crossed over from the Pakistan side in another suspected act of provocation.
The shutdown lasted for approximately four days. Given Adampur's strategic importance as an air force base, the central government had ordered a temporary halt to civilian flight operations to prioritize national security and airspace safety.
