A Manatee High School teacher on Thursday came under the scanner of social media after a video of him yelling at a Latino student went viral. The Manatee High School teacher named Robert Reiber lost his calm after the Latino student allegedly refused to stand up for the Pledge of Allegiance. The Manatee High School teacher video has been doing rounds on social media ever since it has been shared online. In the Manatee High School teacher video it can be seen, Robert Reiber (Art Teacher) yelling at an immigrant (Latino) student for not standing up for the Pledge of Allegiance. The video starts midway in which the teacher can be seen saying yelling a student who is sitting on a desk, while another student secretly films him in the act. The video starts with Robert saying, '..to defend our country and you are gonna sit there on your b*tt!' adding, 'Don’t shake your leg.' Furthermore, Reiber tells the student. 'If you wanna do something, get up and do it. I’ll defend my country til the very end.' However, what raised everyone's eyebrows when the teacher suggested the student to go back to where he came from. He asks the student if they're from Mexico or Guatemala. The student in his reply says, "I was born here." To this, the teacher replies, "You were born here, and you won't stand up for the flag?"

Reportedly, a US media outlet suggest that Robert, 61-years-old, was removed the same day as the incident and was reassigned to a position where he no longer has contact with students. District spokesperson Michael Barber's email was quoted who further revealed that the district's investigation is ongoing in the matter.
