A team of Vigilance Bureau from Mohali has once againraided the residence of former DGP Sumedh Saini. However, it was notimmediately clear in which case the police raided the former DGP's Sector 20 residencein Chandigarh.

Sources claimed that a new case under criminal conspiracyhas been registered against the former DGP by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau. A teamof investigating agency reached Saini’s residence to raid however, it was notallowed to enter inside the house without any official notice.

Meanwhile, Sumedh Saini’s lawyer Ramanpreet Singhappeared in the scene and tried to talk with the police team as the Vigilanceofficials denied to provide any detail of their raid and insisted to get insidethe Saini’s residence following which Mr. Singh asked the Vigilance team to callthe Chandigarh police before initiating any action.

Later, a team of Chandigarh police led  StationHouse Officer Malkit Singh arrived and after a brief discussion with thecaretaker of the Saini’s residence, Vigilance officials, and Chandigarh Policeteam entered Sumedh Saini’s house.

Notably, a heavy force of Punjab Vigilance Bureau, all incivil dress has suddenly cordoned off the residence of Sumedh Saini in theevening. However, they were not allowed to get into the house by the caretakerfor over two hours. Later, Saini’s lawyer arrived o the spot and after talkingwith the officials, four Vigilance Bureau officials have been allowed to enterthe house.

It has been learnt from the sources that investigating team is still at Saini's residence, who is currently not present there. However, now it will remain evident to witness whether former DGP Punjab will be detained by the police or not.

Former DGP, Punjab, Sumedh Saini has been facing chargesof a couple of cases including Kotkapura firing in a sacrilege case. However, hehas been granted interim blanket bail by the High Court till August 23.
