Jalandhar’sFormer BJP President Shiv Dyal Chugh was found dead on a rail track nearJalandhar Cantt on late Sunday evening, with sources close to the formerpresident claiming he died by suicide.

Accordingto sources, Chugh had left his house around 8 am in the morning but did notreturn home, following which his family members started searching for him. Inthe evening, the Government Railway Police (GRP) reported having found amutilated body from the railway track at Jalandhar Cantt, after which thedistrict police started investing the case to find the identity of thedeceased. Later, his family members confirmed his identity.

Ifsources are to be believed, Jalandhar’s Former BJP President Shiv Dyal Chughhas committed suicide due to some family disputes. However, the family membersof Shiv Dyal Chugh are yet to ascertain the reason behind the death if it’s anaccident or suicide.

ShivDyal Chugh holds more than 40 years’ experience in the business of Non-BankingFinancial Companies (NBFC). He was actively involved in social, educational andbusiness organizations. He was also promoter of the PHF Group companies likePHF Investments Limited, PHF Hire Purchase Limited and PHF Finance Limited.

Further,he was presently serving as the Director of Finance Industry DevelopmentCouncil, Mumbai and Vice President of Punjab Haryana Finance CompaniesAssociation. He was also the President of Jalandhar Financiers Association.

ShivDyal Chugh had also been the President of Federation of Indian Hire PurchaseAssociation, Chennai for the year 2007-08. He was Assistant Governor of RotaryInternational District-3070 for the year 2003-2004.
