A gunfight broke out between the security forces andNaxals in Chhattisgarh's insurgency-hit Bijapur district on Saturday, followingwhich four jawans of CRPF and one District Reserve Guard (DRG) jawan were killed.
There are also reports that three Naxals were also shotdead in the encounter. As per information, heavy exchange of gunfire is underwayat Tarrem in Bijapur for the past many hours.
Besides, the Naxals had set nearly 11 vehicles on fire inDhanora area of Chhattisgarh's Kondagaon district.
Meanwhile, this is the second time in a week; a gunfighthas been reported in the Chhattisgarh. A few says back, the Indo-Tibetan BorderPolice (ITBP) arrested three Naxals for placing explosives in the Sukmadistrict to target security forces.
The Naxals in Chhattisgarh are known to use IEDs andengage in gunfights to target security forces in the area.
Just last month in March, Naxals killed a Zila Panchayatmember in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh.
