Free COVID-19 vaccine if you vote for us, claims Nirmala Sitharaman

A fellow leader has challenged the vaccine as a poll promise and contends the vaccine is a right of every Indian.

National Bihar Elections

For Bihar elections, the BJP together with chief minister Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal United (JDU) has among other things promised free COVID-19 vaccines for everyone in Bihar, once the vaccine reaches mass production.

Nirmala Sitharaman, Finance Minister said, “As and when the vaccine candidates that are currently under various levels of trials in the country get scientific clearances and a go-ahead for production, the people of Bihar will get vaccination for free once the production in India is on a large scale. This is our first poll promise as mentioned in the manifesto.”

She continued, “As and when the vaccine candidates that are currently under various levels of trials in the country get scientific clearances and a go-ahead for production, the people of Bihar will get vaccination for free once the production in India is on a large scale. This is our first poll promise as mentioned in the manifesto.”

Surprised to see this being pitched as a poll promise by BJP in Bihar. The @ECISVEEP must take suo moto cognisance as the Modi Govt can't be selective about free access to Covid Vaccine depending on electoral results.”
