
In a fresh jolt to Congress, veteran leader Tajinder Singh Bittu on Thursday joined the BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Tajinder Singh Bittu served as the Himachal Pradesh's Congress Co-Incharge. Dr. Tajinder Pal Singh Bittu was appointed as Secretary of the AICC and in charge of Himachal Congress Affairs by Sonia Gandhi in 2021. However, Tajinder Pal Singh Bittu's roots lie in Jalandhar, Punjab.
Based in Jalandhar, Tajinder Singh Bittu is an Advocate by Profession. He was a member of AICC, and the Chairman of Punjab State Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd. He remained Chairman of Jalandhar Improvement Trust, Jalandhar, and President of DCC Jalandhar Urban. He has served the Congress, Youth Congress, and Congress Sewa Dal in various capacities.
Notably, the BJP is fighting Lok Sabha Elections 2024 alone in Punjab after its parley talks with SAD failed over the conflict of Principles. Following that multiple big leaders have joined the BJP to fight Lok Sabha Elections in Punjab. It includes Sushil Rinku and Ravneet Bittu. On Thursday, Punjab's former IAS Officer Parampal Kaur Sidhu joined the BJP. Following her, Tajinder Singh Bittu joined the Saffron Party and is likely to fight the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 in Punjab.
