The onespecial thing in these assembly elections of Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu andKerala is that the charm of film stars didn’t work in front of politicalissues. Political parties in Bengal brought the most stars into the arena ofpolitics. Also made Star campaigner, but in the end, Star power flopped in frontof local issues and political faces.

Howimportant Kamal Haasan is in Tamil cinema, there is no doubt in this. Kamal isconsidered to be a stalwart of Tamil films. From 'Ek Duje Ke Liye' to 'Aunty420', Hindi audiences have also given him a lot of love. Kamal formed his partyMakkal Neidi Maam (Jan Nyay Party) three years ago. In the vacuum created inTamil Nadu following the demise of both Jayalalithaa and Karunanidhi, expectations were raised by Kamal, but he lost to Coimbatore's VanitiSrinivasan from BJP's South seat.

WhereKamal Haasan lost in front of the BJP, Khushboo Sundar, who joined  BJP a few months ago, also lost the election.Popular actress Khushboo started her political journey with DMK in 2010. Shewas with the Congress party from 2014 to 2020. In October 2020, she left theCongress and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. Khushboo was a candidate fromThousand Lights constituency in Chennai.

Then comesMithun Chakraborty who was raised just before the Bengal elections. Mithun, whowas also a Rajya Sabha MP from Trinamool, had gathered huge crowds in his rallyafter he joined BJP and was projected as the 'son of Bengal', after which therewas political speculation that BJP might get a majority. Speculations were thatMithun can also be a candidate for the Chief Minister's chair. Mithun's magicdid not work. In the desire to become the Chief Minister, he already gave upthe seat of Rajya Sabha. Mithun left Mamta, but people did not.

Theateractor Bratya Basu from the Trinamool Congress in Bengal, Director RajChakraborty, singer Aditi Munshi, actor Chiranjeev, actor Lovely Mitra, theateractor Nayana Bandopadhyay, cricketer Manoj Tiwari, former footballer BideshBose, actor Kanchan Malik, singer Indranil Sen, actor June Malihan has won theelection. While actor Sayani Ghosh from Trinamool, Actor Sayantika Banerjee andKashani Mukherjee has lost the election.

Amongthe celebrities contesting on a BJP ticket, fashion designer Agnimitra Paul, veteran actors and singers like Babul Supriyo, Lockett Chatterjee, and YashDasgupta lost the election.

Politicalanalyst Dr. Alimullah Khan, associated with the Congress in an interview, said “even in a statelike Kerala, people have understood the ground issues, they have understood thedifference between the glare and the issues. People have come to know who willdo their work and who will disappear after victory. After these results, mostpolitical parties will probably think before giving tickets to celebs”.
