GATE 2022: Registration process postponed, and other details

The registration process for General Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) 2022 would begin from September 2, 2021.

The online registration process for General Aptitude Test for Engineering 2021 has been postponed and now it would commence from September 2, 2021. Candidates may apply for the exam through the official website – gate.iitkgp.ac.in.

Earlier, the scheduled date was August 30, 2021. The candidates may register themselves till September 24, 2021, candidates may apply on or before the last date.

The test would be administrated by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur and the exam would be conducted on February 2, 6, 12 and 13, 2021. 

For this time, two new subjects have been added to the syllabus of the GATE 2022 examination, which are naval architecture and marine engineering, and geomatics engineering.

Students who are currently pursuing the final year of their undergraduate course are also eligible to apply for the GATE 2022 exam.

GATE 2022: How to apply?

Candidates may apply for the exam by following the below-mentioned steps:

Step 1: Visit the official website – gate.iitkgp.ac.in.

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the link which read “Apply online for GATE 2022.”

Step 3: A login page would appear, enter all the required details like mobile number, name etc.

Step 4: Click the ‘Submit’ button, you would be registered.

Step 5: Save the application form and fill in all the credentials. 

Step 6: Scan and attach all the required documents.

Step 7: Pay the applicable fees.

Step 8: Save the application and take a printout for further reference. 

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science for admission into the Master's Program and Recruitment by some Public Sector Companies.
