A twisted tale of complex, mature and emotional drama Gehraiyaan released on Amazon Prime Videos on February 11. The situations were messy & screwed up just like real life. Shakun Batra proves himself to be the master craftsman of human emotions.
The movie started at a slow pace, but picks up quickly & is engaging till it ends with minor twists & turns. Deepika, no doubt the best actress of today's generation, this type of role is only made for her where we can see the character in a realistic way!
The movie can be said as a ‘One Woman Show’ as Deepika Padukone’s balanced, natural and nuanced acting is totally award-winning. In the role of Alisha, Deepika came out even stronger. Her chemistry with Siddhant (Zain) is earning praises. The intimate scenes between the two grabbed the eyeballs of the audience.
Ananya Panday and Dhairya Karwa also left a positive impact on the audience. One of the user wrote on Twitter, “Got done watching #Gehraiyaan, man what a ride. Starts out slow, but rewards all of the patience at the end. Feelings, relationships, this movie gets it. Deepika the actor is back, what a poised performance from her. Ananya was great and so were Sid and Dhairya. Naseer sahib amazing.”
However, some users seem to be disappointed with the film.
A user wrote, “#Gehraiyaan is 2 hours 28 minutes long film. I started right before I wanted to go to sleep. Just thought to watch the 1st scene & decide to whether it's a Sunday afternoon date movie or not! At 4:30 in the morning, I ended up watching the whole of it. Here's my 2 cent about it.”
