Gold price in India has declined dramatically a day before Dhanteras. The festival of Dhanteras is considered an auspicious occasion for purchasing precious metals such as gold and silver.

The major drop comes as the price of gold has plunged in the international market. In the last few days, the price of gold has plummeted by Rs 530 per 10 grams.

According to the information on the good returns website, fall in the gold price has occurred in all major cities such as Mumbai, Delhi and others.

However, the gold price climbed in futures trade today as traders opened new positions amid firming spot demand.

According to the MCX India website, gold was trading 0.12% higher at Rs 47,692 per 10 gram on the Multi Commodity Exchange, with a business turnover of 13,548 lots. Analysts believe that new positions taken by investors contributed to the spike in gold prices.

Gold prices have fallen in the global market. According to reports, spot gold has down by 0.1% to USD 1,781.78 per ounce, while US gold futures have fallen by 0.1% to USD 1,782.80.
